Rooms and Spaces

Rooms

Our rooms are created with the intention of bringing you joy and allowing you to experience the power of colour and art.

This is where Swahili architecture meets eclectic maximalism - where shabby chic gets a long-awaited facelift and new clothes :)

Colour Room

The Color Room, as its name suggests, is a testament to the transformative power of color. It demonstrates how colors can change objects in our lives, and in turn, transform us.

Nature Room

The Nature Room pays tribute to the pristine forest we are immersed in at Kaya. This inviting space features four beds on two levels and is located on the first floor.

Square Room

The Square Room, located on the ground floor, draws inspiration from an aerial photograph of the container port in Hamburg, Germany.

Mosaic Room

This room highlights the power of turning fragments into a new form of expression, reminding us that nothing is truly broken—it can always be transformed.

Perfect Room

This design pays homage to the vibrant tribal art traditions of Africa, reminding us of our place in the world and connecting us to this magnificent and colorful continent.

Bed Combinations

Depending on your needs, all our beds can be arranged as either two single beds or joined to make a double bed.

Spaces

Kaya is built around and lives in harmony with nature and is home to some of the oldest trees in the area, creating a unique microclimate with cooler temperatures and rich biodiversity.

Designed for group experiences, we offer diverse settings for art, yoga, dance, team-building, and more.

We've purposely created social areas that encourage interaction with our staff and fellow guests, creating a warm sense of community.

Bar & Restaurant

Located just a few meters from the beach, our restaurant overlooks the Indian Ocean, offering an ever-fresh breeze and the comforting shade of indigenous trees.

Beach

Msambweni Beach is a secluded paradise, with white sands, swaying palm trees, and clear blue waters.

Its untouched beauty offers a rare sense of tranquility, where you’ll often find yourself alone on the shore, accompanied only by a few local fishermen.

Tumaini Multi Purpose Hall

Overlooking the ocean and located under our 120 year old mango tree, the Tumaini (Hope) Hall is an open structure with a high palm leaf roof and lovely breeze.

It is perfect for dance, yoga and various types of workshops for groups of up to 20 people.

The hall features two levels, providing a separate area for refreshments during breaks or an additional workspace.

Meditation Circle

The meditation circle offers a private sanctuary, purposely placed at a distance from any other structures on site.

Surrounded by trees and shaded by leaves from the pristine Kaya forest, the area is often filled with the sounds of birds and monkeys, notably the Colobus monkey and Hornbill.

Forest Massage

Tucked away in the tropical forest, a simple banda with a palm leaf roof invites you to indulge in self-care.

This is also a condusive space for private healing sessions.

Pool

The pool is shaded by large tree canopies, providing a cool retreat from the tropical sun.

Surrounded by lush greenery, this peaceful spot is perfect for relaxing, swimming or just lounging by the pool.

You will often be entertained by different types of monkeys playing in the trees and enjoy the sight of colorful birds all around.
