Small rooms incl. breakfast

1 person = 110 USD (1,256 kr / 14,233 sh)

4 people = 140 USD (1,599 kr / 18,115 sh)
Lunch vegetarian: 10 usd (1,295 ksh / 114 kr)
Dinner pescatarian: 13 usd (1 683 ksh / 148 kr)
Price for the entire hotel per night including breakfast = 500 USD
For workshop facilitators we also offer an apartment free of charge.
Rates are non-negotiable and include: VAT @ 16% and tourism fund levies @ 2% .
Rates exclude bank transfer costs. We accept direct bookings only. No discount for residents
Children
Children are very welcome but must be supervised at all times. While the hotel features a playful design, it is not intended as a venue for groups of children. Furthermore due to a sharp cliff and the animals on site, you need to pay attention if you bring small children.
Check In
Check in: 3PM Check out: 11AM, if you need an early/late check in/out please let us know as we can be flexible and accommodating when possible. Luggage storage is available on request.
Booking Requirements
To confirm your reservation, a 50% deposit is required after room selection. Upon receiving your deposit, a confirmation email with accommodation details will be sent. Payments can be made via debit card, Visa/MasterCard, Mpesa, or bank transfer (details provided in the reservation email). The remaining 50% is due upon arrival. Cash payments are accepted by appointment only.
Cancellation Policy
If the booking is cancelled 90 or more days before arrival then a charge equal to 25% of the stay will be made.
If the booking is cancelled less than 30 days before arrival then a charge equal to 50% of the stay will be made.
If the booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made.
In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
Please make sure you have adequate travel insurance.
We do not issue credit or vouchers for postponing or changes in dates.
The below cancellation charges will apply. Any bank fees or admin costs will be added to the cost of the refund.

Visa
Following the presidential directive that Kenya will be a visa free country from January 2024, a digital platform http://www.etakenya.go.ke has been developed to ensure that all travelers to Kenya are identified in advance through an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system.

Flights
Several major airlines offer flights from various European countries to Mombasa, Kenya (Moi International Airport - MBA), usually with one or more stopovers. Some of the most common airlines serving this route include:
1. Ethiopian Airlines: Departure from major European cities (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, etc. via Addis to Mombasa.
2. Turkish Airlines: Departure from almost all major European airports (London, Amsterdam, Milan, Vienna, etc. via Istanbul to Mombasa.
3. Qatar Airways: Departure from many European hubs (Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, etc. via Doha to Mombasa. Other have a layover in Nairobi:
4. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines: Departure from Amsterdam with connections from across Europe via Nairobi to Mombasa.
5. Lufthansa: Departure from Germany (Frankfurt, Munich) and connecting flights from across Europe via Nairobi to Mombasa

Getting to Msambweni from Nairobi
Once you arrive in Kenya, there are a few ways to reach Msambweni:
Option 1: Domestic Flights
For a quicker journey, consider a domestic flight from Nairobi to Ukunda Airstrip (UKA) in Diani Beach, which is about a 45-minute drive to Msambweni. Several local airlines operate daily flights, including Safarilink, Jambojet and Fly540
Option 2: Road Transfer from Mombasa
If you arrive at Moi International Airport (MBA) in Mombasa, you can travel by road to Msambweni via:

For a scenic experience, take the Madaraka Express Train from Nairobi to Mombasa. This high-speed train takes about 4.5 hours.

Seasons
Our location on the equator at sea level provides us with a warm and humid climate throughout the year. Traditionally, there are two rainy seasons: the short rains in October and November, and the long rains from April to June.
The dry seasons typically occur from January to April and August to November. However, with changing global weather patterns, these conditions may vary and are becoming increasingly unpredictable.
Culture
On the Kenyan coast the pace of life is slow and laid back. People are very friendly and love a good laugh.The predominant inhabitants of Msambweni are the Digo people, one of the nine ethnic groups that comprise the Mijikenda community. The Digo are renowned for their rich traditions, including music, dance, and crafts, which are integral to their cultural identity.
As a predominantly Muslim community, daily life is influenced by Islamic customs and practices, evident in local festivals and communal gatherings.Msambweni is a culturally conservative and predominantly Muslim community. Visitors are encouraged to dress modestly, particularly when outside the beach areas.
Women should consider wearing long skirts or dresses and covering their shoulders, while men should avoid walking shirtless in public spaces. Swimwear is appropriate on the beach but should be covered when entering villages or markets.
